An Airbnb host who goes by @built.with.class on TikTok posted a video about a guest who stayed for three weeks…and racked up a $1,500-dollar electric bill. “The guest not only set up an electric vehicle station, which usually is expensive, it’s minimal. That guest also mined crypto,” host Ashley said. The guests brought about 10 different computers to mine crypto with during their stay. Eventually, the guest did pay for the electric bill themselves. “He made over $100,000 in those three weeks so a $1,500 electric bill was nothing.” One host in the comments says they specifically have a “no crypto mining” rule.
