If you’ve given up alcohol for the month of January, you might be feeling peer pressure to have a drink. Founder of Sober Girl Society Millie Gooch says having an honest conversation with loved ones could help rally support. Instead of making excuses, like saying you don’t drink because you have to drive, just be honest about your intentional break from alcohol, Gooch suggests. If you’re honest and friends still pressure you, it might be time to ask yourself some hard questions about the friendship. “Do you really want to be friends with people who don’t like your company when you’re not drinking?” Gooch says.
