New research identified Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco and Wall Drug in South Dakota as the worst tourist traps globally. Both locations garnered 1,000 negative reviews each. Wall Drug, originally a small pharmacy, now spans 76,000sq feet and attracts 2 million visitors annually. Despite offering coffee for five cents and Western art, some critics label it as ‘tacky’. Fisherman’s Wharf, drawing in 12 million tourists yearly, disappoints many with its crowded and run-down appearance. Other tourist traps include Spain’s Las Ramblas and Dublin’s Temple Bar, criticized for being overpriced and overcrowded. Checkpoint Charlie in Germany and Edinburgh’s Royal Mile also made the list of unimpressive tourist spots. (Dailymail)
