Most Shoppers OK With Stores’ Holiday Decorations Before Thanksgiving

A Mood Media survey of U.S. adults reveals only 20% believe retailers should wait until after Thanksgiving to begin holiday music, decorations, and scents in stores. The experiential media company found 33% of respondents support early November holiday displays, while 24% prefer mid-to-late November and 22% accept October starts. Despite concerns about “Christmas creep,” 41% of shoppers say holiday atmospheres encourage longer store visits, though 6% report leaving sooner. About 32% claim holiday ambiance doesn’t influence their shopping behavior.
