A new program in Nashville called the Peace Partner Project is bringing students from different schools and backgrounds together as pen pals to build friendships and promote kindness.
Students from three schools write letters to each other, learn about famous peacemakers, and practice acts of kindness—all without meeting in person at first.
The goal is to help kids connect beyond their usual social circles, break down differences, and realize they have more in common than they think.
They’ll finally meet at a peace rally at Shelby Park in May, where they’ll perform a song together and celebrate what they’ve learned.
The project has already sparked real friendships (like two girls who didn’t know each other before but are now close), and organizers hope it can expand nationwide to spread more unity and understanding.
