- What's it about? If the title doesn't clue you in, you may want to consider dating a bit more frequently. Like the band's meat-and-potatoes rhythm section, Paul Rodgers‘ lyrics were never known for their subtlety. So, it wasn't the prose-like lilt of verse that captured FM radio, but the killer electric hook in the chorus and Rodgers’ earthy vocals.
- “Feel Like Makin' Love” was a Number 10 hit on the Billboard chart.
- The Straight Shooter album was hardly a sophomore slump, hitting Number Three on the Billboard album chart and becoming the (then) young group's second consecutive platinum album.
- Formed in August 1973, Bad Company had a strong pedigree, with Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke coming from the (then) recently-disbanded Free, guitarist Mick Ralphs from Mott The Hoople, and bassist Boz Burrell from King Crimson.
- Signed to Led Zeppelin's Swan Song label, Bad Company was also managed by Zep's famed manager, Peter Grant.
