The title track of Foreigner's second album, “Double Vision” was also the album's second single. It peaked at Number Two on the Billboard Hot 100–the band's best chart showing to that point.
It was also Foreigner's second consecutive million-selling single, following “Hot Blooded.”
The Double Vision album proved no sophomore slump, following the strong commercial showing of the band's debut, Foreigner, by selling more than five million copies.
Double Vision peaked at Number Three on the Billboard 200.
The album would also launch the hit “Blue Morning, Blue Day.”
Double Vision was the last album recorded by the original Foreigner lineup. After touring to support it, bassist Ed Gagliardi was replaced by Rick Wills, who had previously played with Roxy Music, the Small Faces, and Peter Frampton.
