Americans believe they need a net worth of about $234,000 to be financially successful, a survey of 2,000 adults found. 54% believe they will achieve financial success in their lifetime, and 31% think they have already “made it.” What’s holding Americans back? 46% blame the results of the presidential election, 45% find fault with interest rate changes, and 42% pin it on the job market. “Baby steps are key,” Jessica Jones of BOK Financial said. “If someone is struggling to see success in their financial future, it’s important to just get started, even with a small savings account.” Younger adults are more likely to spend their money on their families, while older adults are making retirement a bigger priority.
