13-year-old Kya Foss wanted to raise money for younger students to have snacks when her school district made budget cuts. After a GoFundMe was set up, more than 30 people donated, and over $2,000 dollars were raised for the school. Foss is part of a wave of Gen Zers who are using GoFundMe to amplify campaigns and rally others toward causes. According to GoFundMe’s Social State of Giving report, 46% of Gen Zers surveyed believe people should share donations online to help spread the word. Half of this generation shares causes or fundraisers at least once a week. (AOL)
