Megaforce RecordsAnthrax‘s Scott Ian has teamed up with comedian/actor/metalhead Brian Posehn for a new song called “Grandpa Metal.”
The track is basically five minutes of Posehn making fun of Ian for being a 56-year-old metal fan who “hasn’t liked any new music since 1992.”
“I came on the idea of just making fun of Scott, ’cause he literally hasn’t liked a new band since Refused, and I find that funny,” Posehn tells Billboard, which premiered the track. “Once I decided it would just be me busting his balls, I started filling the song with as many old-guy jokes as I could.”
Some of those jokes include “Don’t riff too hard, dude/you might just break your hip,” and “Now when’s he gonna mosh, he has to IcyHot his knees.”
“And my back!” Ian quips.
“Grandpa Metal” is the title track off Posehn’s upcoming album, due out next Friday, February 14. It also includes guest spots from Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor, Soundgarden‘s Kim Thayil, Slayer‘s Gary Holt and Fall Out Boy‘s Patrick Stump and Joe Trohman.
