Credit: Jeremy SafferA warehouse of musical equipment shared by Static-X and Dope has been robbed of over $200,000 in gear.
According to a post on the Static-X website, the theft happened recently amid the COVID-19 lockdown. The two bands have filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department and have shared a list of the stolen items, which include drum kits, microphones and LED video panels.
“We want to encourage our community to keep a close eye on your property and on your facilities during this unprecedented time,” Static-X says in a statement. “We also ask for our fans to keep an eye out for the stolen items and maybe we can help the police find these people.”
The band also shared a link to provide anonymous info to the LAPD should you know anything.
In the pre-coronavirus world, Static-X had been on the road celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 1999 debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip. Lead vocals during the outing were handled by an unidentified, masked singer named Xer0 in place of late frontman Wayne Static.
A new Static-X album called Project Regeneration, featuring Wayne’s final vocal recordings, is forthcoming.
